Big news came to Alberta real estate education. On December 1, 2025, the Real Estate Council of Alberta (RECA) introduced new 2025 Competency Exam blueprints and updated licensing exams for its core courses.

What was the RECA 2025 exam update?
On December 1, the licensing exams for both the Fundamentals of Real Estate and the Practice of Residential Real Estate courses were updated to align with RECA’s new 2025 Competency Exam blueprints.
We fully aligned all new course content with these updated standards, and launched ReadyEngine™ to give you the best possible learning experience.

What this meant for Relo students at the time
If you were enrolled in a Relo course at the time, you had two options:
Option 1: Finish your course before December 1, 2025. Learners close to completing their program could stay on the existing platform and finish before the launch.
Option 2: Move to the new platform starting December 1, 2025 — at no extra cost. Learners who weren’t ready to complete their course before December 1 were transitioned to the updated courses built for the new 2025 exams at no extra cost.

While completion percentages didn’t transfer, your knowledge was what mattered.
On the platform, you begin with an initial assessment aligned to the 2025 RECA exam blueprints. This helps the system recognize what you already know and tailor your study plan accordingly. The stronger your foundation, the faster you progress.

If you're still working through the Practice of Commercial Real Estate course you bought before December 1, 2025, that program remains available at courses.relo.ca.
